Discord
When CrisisCommons started in 2010, we were using a Skype channel as our primary discussion room. Well, Skype is not really around anymore, so we have a Discord group running for us to start the discussions back up again. We are working to add topical categories to support focused discussions.

Code of Conduct
1 – Be thoughtful. Keep this place positive and trust that others have positive intent, but also be accountable for your actions. Listen when you’ve caused harm. Ask for consent. Be mindful of your actions: please refrain from public or private harassment, including excessive tagging of other members or through messages; public venting about other members; and racism, homophobia and transphobia will not be tolerated.
2 – Be open. When you are discussing opinions (not technical issues), leave room for other opinions. We come from a wide range of backgrounds and experiences. Don’t shame others for their differences. We support diversity and inclusion and want you here.
3 – Be clear. While this place is special because of all the opinions eagerly shared here, please don’t assume everyone wants your critique. Ask before you offer advice if you’re not sure. You can also try to denote when you don’t want feedback or advice about something, or when you very much do. Use hashtags, emojis, or plain language.
4 – Be accurate. Give well-informed answers that speak from experience or documentation when sharing information.
5 – Have fun. If it’s not fun, maybe just excuse yourself for a while — but we’re aiming to create a space where all feel welcome.
6 – If you are having issues, please contact the Discord Admins or connect@crisiscommons.org and let us know.
