RHoK the World – Join up!

Random Hacks of Kindness (RHoK) 2.0 is December 4 -5 , 2010. This 2-day global event brings together people to brainstorm on problem definitions for humanitarian aid. It will be attended by software developers, emergency managers, innovators, students, storytellers, project managers and entrepreneurs to collaborate and create.

Started in 2009, it is a joint project by Google, Microsoft, Yahoo, the World Bank, and NASA. CrisisCamps and RHoK share a common history. We hope that you can join any of the events in your area. There will be some collaboration with the Open Government Data (concurrent hackathons in some cities), Geeks without Bounds and, hopefully, CrisisCamp participants and other volunteer technical communities. Problem Definitions include ideas from the World Bank, UNDP, WFP, Canadian Red Cross, and more. Check out the RHoK wiki for more details on how you can brainstorm software and knowledge. The definitions will be updated in the coming weeks. Stay tuned.
