A quick summary of the CrisisCamp activities for the weekend of August 21 – 22, 2010:
Community conference call
On Saturday, August 21, 2010, our Community held a conference call to talk about pkfloods, infrastructure planning and community support activities. We fine-tuned our virtual volunteer sign-up process, organized new CrisisCamp city mentorships, and received reports from a number of the CrisisCamp cities. All of the Community minutes are on the wiki.
CrisisCamp Virtual Activities – Ongoing
Here is a list of all the virtual activities in aid of Pakistan relief. You can help at any time for Pkfloods. Special thanks to CrisisCamp Cambridge and CrisisCamp London for pulling this together.
CrisisCamp London
The CrisisCamp London team has been working tireless on Pkfloods to organize tasks and begin adding mapping and information with: OpenStreetMap, Ushahidi, Sahana, and Crisiswiki. Their work has made easier for new volunteers to join us.
You can find out more on the CrisisCamp London wiki page and their Twitter account: @CrisisCampLdn.
CrisisCamp Santiago (Chile)
The CrisisCamp Chile team has been planning this past weekend’s Camp for a few months. They focused on activities for the Chile Earthquake zone. They also worked on Charity Box, Psicologos Voluntarios (a donation management project) and some data migration work for OpenStreetMap Chile.
CrisisCamp Cambridge
CrisisCamp Cambridge met on Sunday, August 22nd, 2010. They continued to lay the foundation for virtual volunteers by organizing the tasks. They have a CrisisCamp meet up on Tuesday, August 24th, 2010. The eventbrite and details are on the CrisisCampCAMBS wiki page. You can follow them on twitter @CrisisCampCambs.
